(FSHN 460) Examines theory and applications of synthetic semipermeable membranes in reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, microfiltration, and electrodialysis processes; thermodynamics of bioseparations, membrane chemistry and properties, process engineering, equipment design, fouling of membranes, selected applications. Offered alternate years.

Prerequisite: FSHN 460 or consent of instructor.
