Applies concepts of epidemiology to the study of chronic diseases. Students will learn the demographic, epidemiological, and nutritional transitions of chronic diseases, risk factors for chronic diseases, and will discuss larger system level and social factors that contribute to health inequities in chronic diseases. The course will conclude with a discussion of the epidemiological methods used to produce science related to chronic disease and risk factors.
