SP23 MEETS WITH IS 583 73029, Ryan Cordell - "BookLab: Print to Programming" bridges book history, information sciences, and digital humanities to offer an applied history of new media from the hand-press period to the present. BookLab examines how practices of reading, writing, and publishing have interacted—thematically and materially—with contemporaneous technological innovations over the past 250 years. Booklab complements readings with hands-on critical making experiments using textual technologies from letterpress to computer programming. Graduate student questions may be sent to ischool-advising@illinois.edu. This course is held at the FabLab.
