Topics to be explored include social and cultural experience, diversity and difference, power and transgression, cultural construction and interpretation, gender, empire, capitalism, socialism, and revolution. Central to the course are questions of historical methodology and theory as well as of the interpretation of the Russian past. Restriction(s): Restricted to Graduate - Urbana-Champaign.
