Argentina Study Abroad
Section Info:
The Argentina Study Abroad trip, May 23 to June 20, 2016, a 4 -week school-based program in Alta Gracia, Argentina. Students have a half-day full-time placement in a classroom of their choice as well as will see others types of schools in Alta Gracia as well as urbana and rural schools. The goal is to learn as much about another culture and language as we can in order to learn about ourselves as future teachers. Spending time in schools in another culture helps us understand what it is like to be culturally different in US schools and thus to be more culturally sensitive teachers. Interested students should contact the instructor at marilynj@illinois.edu. Pre tour meets throughout the semester at arranged times and days. Tour is May 23 to June 20. This is a 2 credit hour course.
