Introduction to guitar and guitar pedagogy for music majors. This course aims to build a foundation in understanding the guitar’s technical and musical possibilities as a solo instrument, accompaniment tool, and part of an ensemble. This course is the first of a two-part sequence.

Credit is not given toward graduation for: Credit is not given for both MUS 176 and MUS 199 GT1, MUS 199 GT2, MUS 199 GT3, MUS 199 GT4, or MUS 199 GT5. Prerequisite: Restricted to Music Majors or with instructor approval.
