Hip Hop, Schooling, and Music Education
Credit: 2 hours.
Creates space for participation in Hip Hop music making and growth as diverse musicians; exploration of Hip Hop music and culture within social and historical contexts; better understanding of music education scholarship concerned with Hip Hop culture and connections among this scholarship and practice; and experiencing and design of meaningful integrations of Hip Hop music within various music education settings.
2 undergraduate hours. 2 graduate hours. Prerequisite: Restricted to graduates and upper-division undergraduates; freshman and sophomores by instructor approval.
