Prerequisite: For non-music majors only.

Students must register for one lecture and one discussion section unless offered online in a lecture/discussion format.

Topic: "SOUND OPINIONS." This course uses writing about music as a medium for expanding students' musical knowledge and examining influences on their tastes. Students will read music criticism, practice active listening, discuss their analysis and opinions, and write about their experiences. By engaging with music critically, students will explore how their musical preferences contribute to—and are shaped by—their core beliefs and identity.
