Credit: 3 hours.
Course explores the biological, cultural, ecological, historical, political, scientific and social aspects of animals and their impact on global agriculture, medicine and industry. The curriculum also addresses biological concepts, animal research, diseases, vaccinations, and a diverse range of species including amphibians, aquatic organisms, companion animals, livestock, primates, reptiles and safari animals. The course intends to cultivate critical thinking, ethical reasoning, scientific literacy, and an understanding of the important interconnection between humans and animals.
Credit is not given toward graduation for: Animal Science majors. Prerequisite: Not intended for Animal Science majors.
