Credit: 3 hours.

Designed to help students acquire brand decision-making skills. Advertising and marketing theories, practical problems and traditional cases will be studied as they learn to build a strong brand strategy that will lead to a strong brand advertising strategy. This encompasses every facet of making advertising decisions for a brand. This involves understanding the content a consumer requires, how the consumer will come in contact with the brand, and what is the goal of the connection between consumer and content/contact.

Credit is not given toward graduation for ADV 250 and ADV 283.

Section Info:
Students who have completed ADV 283 (SP23 or before) should not register for ADV 250. While the number is different, the course content is the same. Registering for the new course would be seen as duplicate credit. Duplicate credit does not count toward graduation and students registering for the duplicate course will be asked to drop. Students should register for the AL1 (lecture) and an AB1-AB6 discussion section. Students who are planning to apply to transfer into Advertising for Fall 2025 will not be able to register for ADV 250 until they have been admitted into the major. There are NO exceptions. If spaces are still available in this course in June, newly admitted ICT transfers will be allowed to register after admission notifications are sent out. Due to major and transfer demand, seats will not open to the general campus population.
