Section Info: Topic: This course is a survey of global history from the late nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century, focusing on histories of empire, colonialism, race, gender, and resistance in the Middle East, Africa, South and Southeast Asia, the US, and Europe. We will utilize both historical and cultural texts, and students will develop skills in engaging with secondary and primary sources, synthesizing information, and learning to discuss and think critically about historical topics.
