Topic Section V: Psychoanalysis and Cultural Criticism This seminar will explore the interface of contemporary cultural criticism and psychoanalytic theory. Beginning with key texts by Freud, Lacan, and Laplanche, the seminar will shift focus to examine the engagement with psychoanalysis in race and ethnic studies and feminist and queer theory. Readings will include work by Kaja Silverman, Teresa de Lauretis, David Eng, Hortense Spillers, Antonio Viego, David Marriott, Leo Bersani, Tim Dean, Homay King, and others.
