Examines current issues and trends within music education from both a local and global perspective. Focuses on the status and role of the music curriculum in contemporary schools and includes a critical examination of a range of evidence-based principles and approaches that govern music teaching and learning in formal and informal settings.

Prerequisite: Graduate standing in music education or consent of instructor.
