Jazz Improvisation Styles II

Credit: 2 hours.

A continuation of the survey of improvisational/jazz artists at an advanced level. Students write and present four papers and associated recording transcriptions of four advanced improvisational/jazz artists representing four distinct and advanced improvisational/jazz styles. All presentations will be done in class.

Prerequisite: MUS 368 or consent of instructor.
