The Themed Entertainment Scenic Design Lab is a collaborative, project-based course. Throughout the semester, students will explore the scenic design process specifically for environments found in themed entertainment. Hands-on individual and collaborative projects will allow participants to gain practical experience in developing and executing scenic concepts for theoretical attractions. The main project in this course will guide students through the phases of designing the environment for a major themed attraction—such as a dark ride— from Bluesky concept ideation to schematic design, with storytelling at the core of the process. Prerequisites: • Undergraduates: One of the following (exceptions can be made with permission of instructor): THEA 415 Scenic Design I (or THEA 222 Intro to Scenic Design with instructor permission), ARCH 172 Introduction to Design II, ARTD 225 Design Drawing • Graduates: Full and Limited Status in one of the following Graduate programs: Theatre (Level 21), Art and Design, Architectural Studies (exceptions can be
