Advanced interdisciplinary examination of current research on adolescence as a life course stage and developmental period; focuses on principal contexts of adolescents¿ lives, such as family, peers and school, and examines how experience in these contexts relates to preparation for adulthood. Designed for students with prior course work on adolescence or related topics who plan to do research, teaching, or policy work pertinent to this age period.

Prerequisite: Prior course work in human development, developmental psychology or life course sociology.
