Students develop their musicianship through reflective engagement with a variety of approaches to non-performance oriented music learning. Equal emphasis is placed on various kinds of music (literature and repertoire) and the ways in which teachers can structure experiences for students. Students will plan and lead experiences, sing and perform on a variety of instruments, and review recent research and scholarship in the field.

2 undergraduate hours. 2 graduate hours. Prerequisite: MUS 240.

Section Info:
Musical partnerships in community youth settings. Students will design and facilitate musical experiences in collaboration with local youth organizations. Course is intended for music education majors, but other students may contact the instructor to request an override. Some weekly class meetings will take place off campus. Pre-requisites: MUS 243 and MUS 343, or graduate standing.
Restriction(s):
Restricted to Music Education major(s). Not intended for students with Freshman class standing.
