Orientation to discipline of Communication and too departmental research areas. Discusses disciplinary norms, research ethics/IRB, academic writing, and professional conduct. Advice on choosing areas of research, identifying suitable graduate advisor, time management, and career planning. Faculty visitors discuss their research and professional development topics.
Approved for S/U grading only. Prerequisite: Communication graduate students only.
