Issues such as radical individualism, communal constraint, and anti-heroism form part of the discussion. Works studies: La Chanson de Roland; Corneille, Le Cid and Polyeucte; Prevost, Manon Lescaut; Flaubert, Madame Bovary; Camus, L'Etranger; and Beckett, En attendant Godot. Taught in French.
