Examination of the acquisition of Spanish by monolinguals, bilinguals, and second language learners. After a general introduction to theories of language acquisition, the focus of the course is on empirical investigations of the acquisition of the phonology, lexicon, morphology and syntax of Spanish by each to the learner groups listed above. Instruction in Spanish unless otherwise noted.
3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: SPAN 303 and SPAN 305 or equivalent, or consent of instructor.
