Spring 2026 All Classes

All Classes

Credit: 1 TO 2 hours.

The Sapora Symposium is an applied learning series designed to enhance skills and foster collaboration for future recreation, sport and tourism change makers. The course features sessions with high-profile industry veterans and faculty as they explore the latest trends, innovations, and challenges in RST fields. Through expert-led workshops, keynote sessions, and interactive panels, students gain actionable insights into leadership, contemporary issues, and management challenges facing the next generation of industry professionals.

Although the course is only one credit and could potentially be condensed into an 8-week offering, it is intentionally designed as a 16-week offering because of the scheduling of professional events and opportunities. These are often scheduled outside of the department or university schedule and allowing for a full semester offering allows for increased opportunities to connect with industry partners. As a hybrid course, students must attend the in-person activities/events in order to complete the course (for both sections). Events are scheduled on weekends to best avoid schedule conflicts. Each semester, the course schedule will be updated with dates for in person events so students can ensure they are able to attend. Approved for S/U grading only. May be repeated in separate terms.
