ARTS 594
Spring 2026 All Classes
Credit: 4 hours.
In this course, we will study how artists have used writing as both a primary creative practice and as a supplement to one’s works in the visual/studio/material arts. The final quarter of this course will serve as a writing workshop for students to develop their own writing practice, leading to the completion of a written document to accompany the MFA Thesis Exhibition in service of the MFA in Studio Art degree.
Approved for Letter and S/U grading. May be repeated in separate terms to a maximum of 8 hours. Prerequisite: Restricted to Graduate art students.
