Creative Catalysts
Section Info:
Topic: Creative Catalysts: Making Art Inspired by Language, History, & Music Description: This course explores how language, history, music, and research can inspire innovative studio art practices. Through hands-on projects, students will engage with archival materials, linguistic structures, and historical narratives to develop a personalized, research-driven approach to creative work. Inspired by artists and thinkers like Arvo Pärt and Sophie Calle, the class emphasizes how stillness and “blank slate” thinking spark artistic transformation. Some seats are reserved for A&D majors, A&D minors, and non-A&D majors. If you receive a "reserve closed" error, all seats for your major are filled, check back on December 1. Any available seats left on December 1 will be made available to all majors. Graduate section.
