Engineering Electromagnetic Compatibility

Credit: 3 OR 4 hours.

Fundamentals of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) with a focus on principles, practices, and applications. Prepares students for EMC circuit design issues. Topics include how EMI affects electronic devices, how to design electronic systems that meet the United States and international EMC standards, different coupling mechanisms, radiated and conducted emissions and susceptibility, crosstalk, grounding and shielding, and system design for EMC.

3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: ECE 329.
