Exotic Mammals-Farm to Safari to Zoo

Credit: 3 hours.

Learn about the characteristics, habitats, reproduction, and conservation of exotic mammal species across Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Emphasis is placed on livestock, safari, and zoological species managed on farms, ranches, nature reserves, sanctuaries, national parks, zoological institutions, and in wild systems. The course explores the geographical, cultural, legal, and policy frameworks that shape the management of exotic mammals, with particular attention to human–animal interactions and livestock–wildlife conflict.

Credit is not given toward graduation for: ANSC 499CA and ANSC 300. Prerequisite: ANSC 221, ANSC 222, ANSC 223 and ANSC 224 (or equivalents of each).
