Credit: 3 OR 4 hours.
Introduces students to the basic analytical techniques and quantitative methods that are being used to inform data-driven decisions in the sport industry. Students will discuss and analyze the methods of sport analytic topics, such as player performance, team management, in-game decision making, market research, and data segmentation. To facilitate the teaching and learning process, this class will consist of lectures, discussions, in-class exercises, homework, and individual and team projects.
3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: Quantitative Reasoning I course or equivalent.
