3 Credit Hours. Recommended: SOCW 200 Course Description: Examination of sexuality topics from social work perspectives, embracing sexuality as a human right using the reproductive justice framework. We will learn how to incorporate a sex positive and strengths-based perspective with a focus on the application of social work skills, theories and values to integrate sexuality into the practice of social work. Through themes of breaking silences of taboo topics, case scenarios within practice settings and recognizing reproductive justice as a critical element of social justice, students will develop skills to engage clients more fully in relation to sexuality.

Not intended for students with Freshman class standing.
