Financial Planning Review
Section Info:
This course will provide students with an intense review of core financial planning topic areas with the goal of preparing students to sit for the FINRA SIE, FINRA Series 65 and CFP® Exams. The course will prepare students to take professional exams by reviewing exam strategy as well as providing a critical overview of financial planning fundamentals, ethics, time value of money, education funding, risk management, investment, estate planning, retirement planning and income tax. All students should have taken at least three core financial planning courses (ACE240, ACE345, ACE346, ACE440, ACE444, ACE445, ACE449, ACE398RM, ACE398EP or FIN230) prior to registering. Students are required to login and use Moodle/Learn (learn.illinois.edu ) in order to complete this course.

This course will assist students building a foundation in personal finance and financial planning technologies. Students will begin with budgeting and cash flow calculators, advancing through financial planning, investment and asset mapping software. The class will also focus on Bitcoin, blockchain, roboadvisers and how AI influences the world around us. Prereq ACE240: Any major/discipline can register.
