Credit: 4 hours.
Develops an advanced understanding of relationships between tourists and the toured, including in-depth knowledge of the phenomenon of tourism and its consequences for individuals and societies. Examines the complexity of movement of peoples across cultural boundaries, coupled with theories related to authenticity, modernity, image creation, social justice, diversity, and representation of social, racial and ethnic groups.
Same as ANTH 570. Prerequisite: Graduate standing.
