This course provides students with professional career exploration experiences that involve developing networking knowledge and skills while engaging with recreation, sport, and tourism industry alumni and professionals in their offices, agencies, and facilities. Students are exposed to best practices and current challenges in the industry, and are given opportunities to make connections for internships, mentorship, and career advancement.

Students must be available to travel March 3, 2020 to the Chicago Blackhawks corporate offices and the United Center in Chicago IL. Transportation is provided. In addition to the field trip, there will be three one-hour class times scheduled with the trip. Attendance at the meetings is mandatory. Meeting dates and times to be determined. This course gives student a career exploration experience that involves developing networking skills while engaging with RST industry alumni and professionals with the Chicago Blackhawks organization prior to attending a Chicago Blackhawks hockey game. Best practices and current issues will be explored. Students will have the potential to make connection for future internships and career advancement.
