Section Info:
Title: US History to 1877 Topic: Recent calls to make America great again have built on the assumption that true greatness can be found in the nation's past. But when in the past? Was there ever any consensus on what national greatness meant? How can earlier struggles inform our visions for the future? These are some of the questions that we will consider in this introductory U.S. history survey, covering the formation of the United States and its momentous first century.
