TOPIC: Band Instrument Diagnosis and Repair for Music Educators. This course will be taught to all students in lecture format from June 16 through June 26, and in small lab groups from June 27 through July 11. These lab groups will be completed in seven 2-hour sessions, to be arranged by the instructor. This four-week course is designed as an introductory class to offer music educators information and hands-on experience with diagnosing problems associated with woodwind and brass instruments. Minor instrument repair will also be addressed. All course participants will work directly with the equipment and instruments. This course may be considered as a music education elective. TOPIC: Digital Editing Techniques For Music Educators This two-week course is designed as an introductory class to offer music educators information and hands-on experience with Pro Tools digital audio recording/editing software for improving the quality of recordings of your ensembles, as well as master recording preparation and rehearsal disc preparation using a variety of hardware and software for your classroom and ensemble needs. Appropriate digital transfer to CD-R will also be addressed. All course participants will be assigned daily lab times and will work directly with the equipment and programs. FIRST TWO WEEKS ONLY - JUNE 16 THROUGH JUNE 26 This course may be considered as a either a music or music education elective.
