Music in Early Childhood

Credit: 2 hours.

Detailed consideration of the music program in nursery schools, kindergarten, and the primary grades; topics include the nature of early musical responses, objectives, experience levels of the program, methods of teaching, and materials. Observation of music teaching at the UIUC Child Development Laboratory is included in the course work. Prerequisite: Senior or graduate standing in music, or consent of instructor.
