Lecture and problem course surveying subatomic physics; includes the nature and properties of nuclei and elementary particles, symmetries, interactions, nuclear models, tools and techniques of experimental subatomic physics, and applications to power generation, astrophysics, chemistry, medicine, and biology.
Offered Spring term only. Prerequisite: PHYS 485 or PHYS 486 or consent of instructor.
