Credit: 4 TO 8 hours.

(SOC W 491) Advanced research course that develops skills for evaluating social work practice and/or social service programs through the use of group research designs, survey research methods, qualitative research methods, program evaluation models, and related research techniques. The course assumes students have had previous exposure to both research methods and statistical analyses through the completion of a statistics course and SOCW 427 or an equivalent research course. This course has two types of seminar, one focusing on experimental and survey design, another focusing on program evaluation.

Prerequisite: SOCW 427 or equivalent
