(SOC W 303) Delivery of health care in the United States is examined from a multidisciplinary perspective including social, cultural, political, economic, ethical and legal issues. Health care services are described in relation to various definitions of health, health status and access to care. Current problems and issues in health care including government responsibility and source of authority, policy development and analysis, proposals for reforms, and financing and cost containment are discussed and analyzed

Prerequisite: Admission to MSW program or consent of instructor
