BSE 754
Summer 2026 All Classes
Credit: 3 hours.
This course addresses a critical gap in undergraduate medical education by providing career-specific financial literacy instruction tailored to the structure and demands of medical training. Unlike general wealth management courses offered through business curricula, this course focuses on physician-specific financial challenges, including high educational debt, delayed earnings, uneven cash flow during residency, elevated professional risk exposure, and the financial decision-making demands that accompany transitions to residency and independent practice.
3 professional hours. Approved for S/U grading only. Prerequisite: Restricted to students enrolled in the Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
