Disciplinary Frameworks for Educational Inquiry in the Social Sciences
Credit: 4 hours.
This course reviews and analyzes the major fields of study in PK-12 educational research. While social foundations of education entail history and philosophy, this course takes up the social sciences (e.g., anthropology and sociology). This course examines the assumptions, concepts, questions, methods, and theories that underlie and support the type of research conducted by social sciences scholars.
4 graduate hours. No professional credit. Prerequisite: Restricted to on-campus Ph.D. students.
