Restorative Justice in Education
Credit: 4 hours.
Examines classroom community-building as well as restorative responses to conflicts and violations of school norms and rules through theoretical, empirical, and experiential writings and videos focusing on the K-12 context. Opportunities to develop and practice applied "facilitation" skills may also be available. To the extent possible within the structure of the university system, the course itself will be guided by restorative principles, including power sharing.
Prerequisite: Restricted to students admitted to the EdM program in Curriculum and Instruction or with permission of instructor.
