Managing the Workforce in RST: Staff, Volunteers, & Leadership Boards

Credit: 4 hours.

Examine human resource management functions in the effective operations of recreation, sport and tourism organizations, including planning, job design, recruitment, selection, training, performance management, compensation, and reward systems. Developing practical HRM skills, upholding ethical standards, and nurturing talent and career-long professional development will be emphasized. Strategies to effectively manage and work with the unique position groups in recreation, sport and tourism organizations including boards, councils, and volunteers will also be explored.

Prerequisite: RST 410 or equivalent.
