An introduction to the foundational models, theories, frameworks, and concepts of leisure, exploring their practical applications across the recreation, sport, and tourism industries. Students examine the philosophical and historical roots of the field and critically assess the role and significance of leisure in contemporary society. Emphasis is placed on the dynamic interconnections among various aspects of the leisure industry, including recreation, sport, and tourism, highlighting how these sectors influence and reinforce one another.
