Credit: 3 hours.

Discusses the similarities and differences between males and females across the lifespan, looking at possible biological and social explanations. Some of the topics covered include how children learn gender roles, similarities and differences across cognitive and social abilities, mental and physical health, and gender in different settings, including at work, at school, and at home. The course will also focus on agents of socialization, including the media, peers, and family.

Prerequisite: PSYC 100 or equivalent.
