Systematic introduction to the sound structures of Spanish, concentrating on recent contributions of theoretical linguistics to the understanding of the phonology of Spanish in its standard and selected dialectal varieties. Instruction in Spanish unless otherwise noted.
3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: SPAN 252 or SPAN 303 or consent of instructor.
