Begins by exploring different types of grief and loss and the importance of studying this topic, especially for those students seeking professions in healthcare and social service settings. Utilizes developmental theories as we look across the lifespan at how individuals’ approach and understand death, the coping strategies utilized to confront grief/loss and ways to support individuals experiencing the plethora of feelings that accompany grief/loss.
