The Architecture of Graphic Design

Credit: 3 hours.

Architecture of Design explores the fundamental systems and principles of graphic design, with a strong emphasis on digital media. It covers essential concepts such as color theory, contrast and balance, visual hierarchy, figure-ground relationships, composition fundamentals, and typographic systems. Additionally, learners delve into the creation of icons, brands, logos, and data visualization techniques. Participants engage in weekly exercises designed to enhance practical skills, fostering a deeper understanding and mastery of graphic design principles.

3 undergraduate hours. 3 graduate hours. Credit is not given toward graduation for: ARCH 485 and ARCH 490 section AGD.
