MUST CHOOSE 2 or 4 credit hours This course grounds contemporary conversations in the history of religion in youth literature, gives students a foundation through which to think about the role of religious youth literature, and surveys some of the genres in which religion plays a role. Particular attention is paid to the role of youth librarians in the ongoing conversations about religion in youth literature, from the expanding diversity of representation to the battles over challenged books, and the implications of all these conversations for acquisitions, services, and programming.
