Amazon Advertising Certification and Global Overview Campaign Course - This industry immersion course is a partnership with Amazon Advertising and Global Overview designed to provide students with an experiential learning opportunity relevant to building careers in advertising, marketing, media and related fields. Part One introduces students to an array of terminology, techniques, strategies, processes and practices related to a variety of advertising campaign solutions, with an emphasis on e-commerce. Students who successfully complete part one will receive professional certification from Amazon Advertising. Part Two will allow students to develop, pitch and implement a comprehensive campaign for real-world clients in collaboration with UI Faculty, Amazon Advertising and Global Overview executives. Students who successfully complete both parts of the course will receive 1 hour of academic credit. For more information go to: https://brandhub.illinois.edu/amazon-ads-experience/. Students can earn a maximum of 6 hours for the Amazon Advertising Experience. For graduate students, this includes ADV 490 AMZ and ADV 590 AMZ. Meets with ADV 392 AMZ (76385).

Section Info:
This course explores the opportunities and challenges involved in teaching media literacy. Specific topics vary by semester, but may include, for example: developmentally appropriate strategies for teaching media literacy; introducing techniques and tools for evaluating media in the classroom and community; media literacy for producers and consumers; navigating social media; critical thinking and media; and media literacy, health and wellness. Meets with ADV 590 MLE, JOUR 460 MLG, JOUR 460 MLU, MACS 496 MLG, MACS 496 MLU, CI 499 G, and CI 499 UG.
