Choral Studies is a sequence of four two-credit courses designed to equip the student choral conductor with the skills to lead an efficient rehearsal. The four sections of Choral Studies are Choral Pedagogy, Vocal Pedagogy, Diction and Aural Skills, and Choral Styles Beyond the Canon.

2 graduate hours. No professional credit. May be repeated up to 8 hours. Prerequisite: Graduate standing in choral music or consent of instructor.

Choral Studies is a four-semester course sequence that will explore the skills necessary for a conductor to become an efficient and inspiring rehearser: Starting Fall 2021 the courses are in this order: FA21, Section A = choral pedagogy (rehearsal techniques); SP22, Section B = diction and aural skills; FA22, Section C = vocal pedagogy; and SP23, Section D = choral styles and repertoire.
