Section Title:
IPM Radio Practicum
Section Info:
Illinois Public Media Radio Practicum puts students in the newsroom at the University's National Public Radio and TV affiliate, Illinois Public Media (IPM), where they will work to build a portfolio of professional work intended for on-air and online distribution. Students design their own course of study in conjunction with the professor, making this course more like an internship than a standard college course. Skills covered include reporting, editing and production for print, audio and video news. Prerequisite: permission of instructor. Please note, This section will be taught asynchronous (no live sessions). Some meetings may occur at IPM. Students will choose to pursue 2-4 credit hours based on the rubric that a minimum of forty-five hours of production activity must be completed over the course of the semester for each credit hour.
