Introduction to Comics - This course introduces students to graphic and visual storytelling, including the language of comic book sequential art and the creation of comics themselves. The mid-term of this class will the production of an internet-type comic that reflects the concepts of the course (no artistic skill required!). The final will be a comic, a paper, or a visual production of students’ choosing that synthesizes the various ideas and readings throughout the semester. There will also be several hands-on activities related to the production of comics and graphic novels.
